I just had a chance to sit down with the folks from Twin Skies. Founded by the same guys who started NeoPets, Twin Skies has been under development for a very short time and hope for a playable version sometime in February. What they have accomplished in this short time is very impressive: this is no NeoPets. It has a distinct Adventure Quest look and feel and I can see anyone from teens to adults enjoying the gameplay.

Twin Skies is a cross-genre product that really demonstrates the merging of Casual, Flash Gaming and full-on MMO client gaming. They have taken a very unique approach in melding the multiple ways we interact via games. Envision a casual gaming site where you can sit down and play a game of chess against another member who may be on the website or in the mmo. While you might be playing via the site, your avatar sits down across the table from me (playing in the mmo) and we engage in a fully interactive game together. The other aspect is a web based flash client. Let's say you're at a friend's house and don't want to download the full client on to his PC. You can access the flash world and go on a raid with me even if I am using MMO client. To demonstrate this interaction between applications, Twin Skies has two PCs side by side. When you perform an action in the flash world your character reacts in the MMO. All of this is tied by one user account for the community game site, flash world and MMO client. Your winnings and accomplishments cross all platforms seamlessly.

The gameplay itself was very enjoyable with a ton of things to do. It will include PvP areas, Acheivments and a dynamic economy. Definitly one to watch and their community site is open now.

We're off for more game browsing, conferencing and SWAG looting!
