The doors opened for the Media a full two hours before the general public and the rush was on to play a Demo of Fallout 3. Three hours before this, Bethesda, developer of the game, had sent out three gameplay videos to grease the wheels and get everyone lathered up. It worked, and I promptly went the opposite way. (IMG:http://virtualmindhive.com/forum/uploads/1216954873/tn_gallery_10_94_46142.jpg)
I was rewarded when I wandered into the Turbine booth and received the first look (of anyone ever, according to the developers) of Lord of the Rings Online - Moria. It was stunning and really made me wish I had invested my time in leveling up a character in LOTRO. I may just take advantage of the 14-Day VIP Trial cards they gave me yet!

The next hour or two were a big blur as I shuffled from one booth to the next. In the process I was scolded for accidentally (really I didn't know!!!) viewing the opening sequence of Fallout 3. Stunning. I had a chance to talk with the EVE folks, Red vs. Blue and many more. I'll get more detailed tomorrow and Sunday on those two. I spent most of the time today playing games yet to be released, people watching, and gathering swag, figurines, free demo cards and other exclusive items (some very exclusive) to be given away over the next days, weeks and months.

That brings me to our first giveaway! Tabula Rasa is a stunning game with a great user base. The folks at NCSOFT were kind enough to give us a heap of Tokens, Dog Tags and even a couple of T-Shirts. If you're interested in getting some of this gear, simply post your reply in this thread. Late next week we'll randomly draw numbers and post the winners. Stay tuned for more swag, demos and trial cards (we have a boatload) from other games throughout the weekend.

For now, here are some crappy cellphone photos to tide you over.

You have no idea how much I envy you getting to attend an event like this...
I've only gotten to go to a total of 4 big events in my life.
Once to Gen Con many, many years ago
Once to the Electronics Expo in Chicago - long enough ago that audio CD's were the secret new item they were showcasing!
Once to the Concrete Expo in Vegas
Lastly to the Industrial Hygiene show in LA...

As you see, other than maybe Gen Con (back in the early '80's) I don't get to see the fun ones like you do!

Learn lots and tell us everything :)

That little shin-dig sounds pretty cool. Wish I was there, thanks for the info.

I might go back to LotRO when Moria is released just to check it out. Right now, though, I'm having the most fun in Tabula Rasa and following Richard Garriotts adventure in Star City.

I LOVE TR!

Please do. I need to get off my butt an make it to a game convention again soon. I've really only been to local cons and usually end up spending the entire couple of days with no sleep. Games get a bit weird when you're playing at dark o'clock (IMG:http://virtualmindhive.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/hunter.gif) after being up for three days straight.

Busy busy day so far. Talked with EA, Crytek, Intel. Meeting with EVE Online and Pirates of the Burning Sea in a little bit. Tons of pics (including the booth babes) to come later. Now I'm off to play some more. Stay tuned, we'll post another swag contest later tonight!

WOW NICE!
I'd be more then happy to start the bidding on a Tabula Rasa shirt and or dog tags- I started in beta and its really a nice change in gaming. Imagine coming over the hill and you see your 'faction' fighting the bad guys, calling out commands and making comments! It just adds to the feeling of being in a real battle :)

Thanks for the update and let me know about the shirt/tags!!
